Bill Gates had Mac prototypes to work from, and he was known to be obsessed with trying to make Windows as good as SAND (Steve's Amazing New Device), as a Microsoft exec named it. It was the Mac that Microsoft took for its blueprint on how to make a GUI.

I have both, and definitely would pick wii over 360 if I had to choose only one. That said, having all consoles is the best option.
You can't have it repaired for less? Oh, well, now you could get that sexy black Wii 
Why wont they fix your current wii? surely that would be cheaper thann $200 and then you could buy a 360 and have 2 consoles! :)

The only reason I can think Nintendo wouldn't repair it for less is if it was modded.
I haven't used my PS3 for gaming in about a year and a few months. Wii I usually use for WiiWare/VC, Rune Factory Frontier, Wii Fit, and Little King Story, but mostly I stick to DS and PSX (even though I usually play them on PS2 Slim).
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
I would suggest to quit console gaming.
You could upgade your old PC from $200, to play multiplatform games and PC exclusives with decent graphics.
Or not even upgrade it, and discover the vast quantities of great PC games from the past decade(s).
