Forums - Sales - JAPAN -- Ps3 Does an AMAZING 51K in its 3rd week after Slim

Next week will be especially interesting, since now PS3 should show it`s real sustained sales in Japan after slim release and pricecut.

This is amazing. Now, all Sony needs to do is watch the release dates of their games. They really need to time the releases perfectly.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Probably not as much as people think was attributed to ToV. There weren't any bundles to boot. At this point in the life cycle, a game selling 200k isn't going to change hardware too much. I can see sustained levels of 35k, which could mean a very successful slim/price cut considering the nature of the home console market over there.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

well half coming from TOV is a A LOT. thats 25K
____________

FF13 bundle is months away.....it won't do much to lower PS3 sales now

I suppose you're right, I forgot this is Japan we're talking about.  Home consoles don't sell the best, and 25k boost is well above what the PS3 has been used to doing there.

ToV did very well for itself. Will probably be the best selling Tales game of this gen.

Wow thats fantastic, barely a drop from last week!
Great job Sony, I love how things are turning out for them
Keep it up.

I think Tales of Grace would outsell it...

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Xbox 360 – 4,965

51K

WOW.....TOV REALLY REALLY must have helped!

TOV didn't help THAT much.  This site is becoming king of overstatements=P

At least half of those sold for the simple fact that it's a new model PS3 - it's only the 3rd week out.  The other half might have come from TOV.

Darth is the king of overstatements. I'm surprised this thread isn't locked since we already have a thread talking about the Japanese sales.
