That does sound likely. I wouldn't expect a DS one, since Konami doesn't seem to be putting any big games on that platform.
On a side note, it doesn't matter where the game is released Wii/PS3 I'm guessing the overal sales numbers would be similar.
For the PS3 of course. Konami don't have any love for the Xbox 360.
I hope it's for PSP. A PSP Suikoden developed by Murayama....would be a dream come true

Didn't we already have this thread...?
Still say that its more likely the game will be on the DS or Wii, given how poorly RPGs have already done on 360 and how Suikoden needs to find as much mass market appeal to revive itself before it dies out completely. PS3 is not exactly the right medium for a series which previously was only selling 250,000 worldwide each title. Especially when putting it on DS alone would probably double those numbers.

Like how Tierkries doubled the Suikoden sales?
Honestly, I don't think the series will find much success on the DS. The Tales series seems to be similar with a mothership title being outsold by spin offs on the PSP. I'm not saying the DS of Suikoden did badly, but it will not expand the series.

Uh...were'nt you the one complaining that we can't compare major titles to spin-offs? And that's definitely what Tierkries was. Worse than a spin-off, it was a cheaply made side game with little support and came after multiple main games had been falling out of favor from both the general public and even die hard fans of the series. Remember, even Suikoden IV and V failed to push more than 250,000 titles worldwide each. The series is effectively on life support and while Tierkries got some new fans interested in the series, it was yet another game that a lot of the core fans and major RPG fans didn't want.
To judge the possibility of a full blown effort from Konami for a 'revival' of the series on DS based on a weak money maker is well...weak.

If I was comparing them directly, I'd probably call it a flop as it continued to drive down the sales of the Suikoden series. I'm just not seeing how a DS version would make the game sell over half a million.

@outawauron
Suikoden DS was kind a spinoff and it did pretty decent compared to the other Suikodens.
Nevermind you already stated that, but I could make the same argument of why it shouldn't be on the PSP since Suikoden 1+2 sold only 30k. (i know I can easily counter this argument itself)
