About time! That's what we need instead of just a price cut. I'd say they should offer three different Wii sku's. An M+ sku with Sports resort (like this one), a Balance board sku with Wiifit and some sort of "hardcore" bundle. Maybe with Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Instead of 'Hardcore' bundle, I think a New Super Mario Bros. Wii bundle sounds about right.  Would harken back to the NES and get LOADS of buyers from all stripes of gamer.

Alright. Then 4 bundles. because while the Mario Bros. Wii bundle would definitely move a lot of hardware, I was thinking more about how Nintendo can improve the third party gaming front.

A Motion Plus bundle would get more M+'s out there and make development for it even more approachable, while also appealing hard to sports and certain hardcore gamers, a Balance board bundle would have a simillar peripheral utilization effect, but also appeal quite highly to the new exercise gamers and a "hardcore" game bundle would just help to bring in that demographic that has predominantly gone PS360. If only Metroid Prime trilogy had utlized the M+ for improved shooting controls, it would have been the absolute most perfect shoe in for a bundle with an M+

How would M+ increase IR precision?

Have you played the archery in Wii Sports Resor?  It doesn't even use the IR, as the controller is pointed up toward the ceiling, but it's a lot more accurate.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

They'll do this also in EU and America, just that we'll pay no less than 229$...i don't understand the reason to keep inside Wii Sports: just to say "2 games inside"?

A tie in game that lasts the entire life of the console will definitely chart as top selling game EVER like SMB did with NES.  That's the idea I get.  You look good as a company when your title is the best selling in the world ever.  The original Wii Sports title is making that run.  Nintendo does good with that the way they keep their bundles consistent instead of packing in whatever game at whenever time like the other consoles do.  But it would be nice as a consumer to see a different bundle.

Consoles owned: NES, N64, PS1, GC, PS2, Wii.

Currently playing...

It's not much of a pointer though....

I liked WSR archery for what it was, but I would not like to play an FPS with controls like that, no thank you.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

So Ninty cannot deny that they like being the number one now LOL

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

A very good move, if true. A bundle with NSMBWii would be nice as well. And one with Metroid Prime Trilogy :)

Then sell WSR for $50 (or whatever the equivalent in euros is in the UK) lol.

We call them pounds in the UK . WSR can be purchased for £35-40 new.

I had my doubts about the UK getting a price cut considering that the new EU price would be the same as the current RRP in the UK, £180. Anyone currently paying £180 for a Wii in the UK is a fool. Everyman and his dog are bundling or selling below £180, Amazon were selling at £165 at one point, play.co.uk are including Mario Kart. If you sell WSR, the regular Wii/WS pack works out to £125-£130. 20% price cut just like everwhere else.

I'm not interested in a price cut anyway, I want a red and/or black Wii.

@Buzzi. It sounds much better if you say 17 'sports' included.

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

imagine if japan gets bundles from SW3 and FFCC... well after a pricecut it could be monstrous!!

Man its been a while since there's this much hype about sales, but the PS3 slim, 360 COD bundle, and now wii pricecut, alll very interesting

@forest-spirit

Nintedno has NEVER "officially" bundled a game outside of wii sports with the wii, I don't see that changing

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

The question is, is it a new box, or is it just that with every purchase of the Wii Sports bundle, you get Wii Sports resort? If its the former than its likely a permanent bundle, if the latter, then its probably just a way to help shift the remaining Wii Sports bundles out of the way.

Sounds more like the latter if they aren't going to do a price drop in UK, since it would take time to manufacture new boxes and new box art to accommodate the change.

Also, UKi s getting this bundle, and US is getting a cut, what about Japan and the rest of the PAL territories? Anything announced, or will we have to wait until Friday?
