PSP Go is going to flop.

This. Honestly this is something Sony should have looked into long before the handheld was this close to release.

PSPGO adds absolutley nothing to the old PSPs (other than a slide function whoaaaaa yay) and takes out things I'd think to be important, namely the UMD drive and smaller size screen. And it's more expensive??? WTF Sony.

Even if I were to buy a PSP brand new today I would still go withe older model.

The price point in some countries is ridiculous...

PSP GO won't flop as much as people want it to, but it definitely won't sell as well as SONY wants. It's the first iteration of the transition to digital distribution so there will be some resistance. Then again, that's why they're still going to produce PSP-3000 so people still have the option.

Personally, I like it because it's smaller and you don't have to carry around discs.

Here's the problem I see for retailers.

In order to sell software for the PSP, you have to stock two different SKUs for the same games which don't sell all that great even with one SKU. Not only that, you have to stock two different models for the same hardware, that doesn't sell all that well with one SKU. So you're expecting retailers to stock more product for fewer sales.

They need to give retailers a clear strategy on how to sell their products. Right now it seems like all Sony is doing is putting out the product and hoping some people buy it because they think it's cool. That is not a retail strategy.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.
