Team Ninja, Nintendo having their strengths “multiplied” from collaboration

September 22nd, 2009 Posted in News, Wii, Written by Valay

This information comes from an interview with Team Ninja Producer Yosuke Hayashi…

“All of our members at Team Ninja, we have the utmost respect for Nintendo so we’re just honored to be working with such a great label brand company, you name it. At the E3 announcement at the Nintendo conference we were honored to share a brand new trailer with everyone. And at the end, there was a Team Ninja and sort of a symbol that’s an ‘x’ mark with Nintendo and what we see in that sort of line is that our strengths are being multiplied by being a collaborator with Nintendo and so hopefully that will show through in the final project.”

As was mentioned before, this really is quite a different project for Team Ninja. But it’s also odd for Nintendo in that they have handed off such a huge franchise to a third party developer. With that said, Team Ninja can definitely bring something new to the Metroid series and I’m sure that Other M won’t disappoint fans, especially with the oversight from Yoshio Sakamoto.

Both nintendo & they seem to be very positive & excited. Such positivity & excitement can only encourage the devs to work harder & add innovation into metroid.

Metroid went from 2D to 3D gracefully, lets see where these guys take it!

Do you think their Metroid will be like Metroid Prime was for the Gamecube (a mega critic success as it innovated)?

Yeah gonna pre-order this soon on Amazon..

It's just that simple.

I need to pre-order this game as well. If it's half the game Metroid Fusion or Super Metroid are, it's an instant must have.

Also, Tecmo.. don't sexify Samus please.

Pixel Art can be fun.

I just re-watch the trailer of Other M, and it seems the game is more in line with games of the moment, eg, more action oriented, more cinematics... I think Other M will be more mainstream, since I found the two first iteration of the Prilme series as relatively niche games.

Of course, we have not a lot material to discuss about Other M but the trailer and the recent allegation about a multiplayer mode.

Nonetheless, when I watch the trailer, I have a little fear that the franchise will loose of its perfection with Other M. Somehow, die-hards Metroid fans must had the same reaction back in the GC days when the 3D metroid was announced ^^

I'm so excited I could burst! Thanks for posting the thread.

Does anyone think Ninty could have chosen a better dev for this? If so, whom?

Indeed she is, I just don't want the M rated variety where Samus jiggles when she's not in her Power/Varia/Gravity/etc. Suit.

Epic maybe......but then the story wouldn't be the best ever told

@Smoked Hostage

lol......I don't think NINTENDO will let them do that.......I hope so anyway.....I doubt they have that much freedom on the "character" aspects.

It might bring back the Franchise in Japan, or at least I hope it does.

This game is pretty much already a must-have for me. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
