SEGA and Sony seem to be on great terms this gen.

I'm surprised there wasn't anything about porting Wii games to use with the wand

you mentioned USA and japan release dates, you got any Europe ones in there? no?

This is turning out to be a great gen...finally!

i'm going to get GoW 1 and 2 on the blu-ray. now if they just release kingdom hearts 1 and 2, shadow of the colossus, and ico I will have every ps2 game i feel like i missed as a GC only owner last gen.

I dont know...Sega fans get jerked around by the internet all the time. New sega system gets posted on a fictious gaming site every month.

I don't believe the DC emulation part till i see it with my own eyes.

Also, it doesn't make sense to do this on PS3 fr sega at all. North america is where the biggest Dreamcast userbase was, by far. And 360 still has a huge lead in that region... Just saying.

The wand and other stuff...could be right...

You forget that they "opened" up their catalog games to live market place (soul calibur DC version and some other games), this maybe is just a result of those games being ported over as Digital content.  This sounds plausible because some of the rarer games never made it state side (Shenmue 2 I believe is one game that was spoke of).  Either way market share would have Zero to do with the decision, I believe that the opportunity was probably given to all companies (Nintendo and Microsoft) and Sony is currently working with them to roll out what they agreed would be viable on the PS3.  Remember it probably is cheaper to go the DD route of distribution than to have it pressed to disk, so this is at little cost overall to Sega for doing this.

Edit: I also noticed that powerstone collection is a DC port that was created for the psp, so this probably has more validity now that I think about it.

5M sales on a 35M base (reaching such a base by April 1 2010 would require a sustained 50% increased in PS3 sales from September 2009 to March 2010) would represent close to a 15% adoption rate for the new add-on.

That is high ... but possible. The questions for software makers are (a) when do the sales occur and (b) what percentage of those people will be willing to buy your game. Of the 571 PS3 releases listed on VGChartz, less than 2% (10) have sold to 10% of PS3 owners and just over 5% (29) have sold to 5% of PS3 owners.

So a top-tier selling wand game (top 5%) might do 250k units. That could limit the amount of work done on the add-on.
