No.
Before? probably not..shortly there after? Probably.
Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:
If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.
If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

GREAT! Either way you'll end up with one correct guess!
It seems unlikely. It would require the Wii to outsell the HD consoles combined by about 3 million units before the end of the year, there just aren't enough weeks left.

Actually the concern wouldn't be time in that case, but how much Wii's Nintendo had on stock to sell, during last holidays, Nintendo sold pretty much every Wii they sent to stores
Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!! It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!! Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Assuming that Nintendo has enough stock to meet it's 26 million FY prediction and given that sales have been relatively slow thus far this year i'm not so sure that stock would be the limiting factor. I'd have to look at the numbers more carefully to be sure.
Nope if it couldn't do it while being $150 cheaper than PS3 and riding wave of novelty blue ocean games it won't do it this season when it's only $100 cheaper and has more of the same games and bad press from all this year).

i really doubt it, i think it will struggle to outsell both HD consoles combined from now
Wii has been sold-out every holiday season so far, three times in a row without any price drop, so with a new $200 price, i don't see why the same thing won't happen again this year...
Nintendo hasn't announced any price drop, to be sure all the remaining Wiis in the retail chain would sell as fast as possible, and retailers wouldn't have to sell old Wiis at the new price tag...
It's now nearly done, and the new stock will soon be on the market... i think that stock will be huge, as the production for this fiscal year will be the same as the previous one: 26 millions...
So, at the end of the year, the total Wii sales will be between 65 and 70 millions (quite logical, october to december is usually half of the year HW sales)...
So, PS3+360 need to sell between 10 and 15 millions combined to stay over 50%: with their new price cuts, i think they will do it quite easily...
BUT... they will have to sell hardware at loss, just to maintain their position, while Nintendo will keep doin' huge profits, even with the lower price tag, and even more when you also look at DS sales...
So Nintendo, at the end of the day, will win anyway, even if they "only" have 48 or 49%... :)

Nintendo didn't do it previously, because they didn't have the stock the previous holidays, they were supply constrained, that's not an issue this year, they have plenty of stock, they have forecasted 26 million by end of the fiscal year, so that means they have millions ready to be sold this holiday, if they have enough stock, they'll take 50%.
