Forums - Gaming - Which system is the loudest/quietest?

Have never ever heard my Wii make a loud noice.
My PS3 do make some noice now and then.
My 360 allways make loud noices.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Originally (for me) it was X360 > PS3 > Wii, however my Wii started making tons of noise while spinning the disc and is now probably Wii > X360 > PS3. I have a feeling my Wii will die soon but it's been like this for almost 1 year, so it may work forever just really loudly.

There's probably an issue, mine stopped reading Brawl cause the the dust/smoking.  I sent it in they found an issue with the drive and replaced it, even my loudest game CoD W@W is silent, it used to make so much noise reading that game before Nintendo fixed my Wii.  They will fix your Wii for free if it stops reading Brawl, so get a chain smoker to blow their smoke directly into your Wii.

Yea, I don't know if that will work now. I decided to mod my Wii since I figured it was likely to break and I just wanted to mess with it. Turns out its super easy and rather interesting. So, if it breaks, I'll try backing out the soft mod, but I don't know if I can or not, but it still reads all my discs (for now). To bad modding a Wii doesn't really provide all that much use other than for pirating, and the pirates already took care of writing all the software needed to pirate. I really don't know why I did it

I like the homebrew, and being able to save your Brawl replays that are longer than a few minutes is nice.  Lots of other things to be doing :P

DS does make a sound! Turn the DS on and have the volume on mute, put your ear up to the DS and listen, you'll hear a very faint ringing sound.

lol

I've never seen a PS3 outside of a store so I don't know. My Wii is very quiet though. My brother is home from the army right now and when he plays the 360, it's loud!

I tried my DS,  2 Lites, and DSi, nothing....  Sure it isn't just yours?

I'm sure. It's very very faint. Maybe I just have sensetive hearing. I couldn't really hear it on my DSi, but there was some background noise when I tried. MY DS and my brother's and sister's DS Lite's make the constant very very faint noise. Best to try it in total silence.

I hear the noise on my Lite.

I'm too lazy to check my Phat, but it's that type of high pitched noise that some people can hear and some people just can't.

I think it depends, my PS3 fat makes less noises than my sister's Wii... I don't know what she did with it.

I have setup my consoles in a line in my entertainment system going from quietest (on the left) to loudest (on the right). At present:

1. Left: Wii- Can't hear it at all, although sometimes I can hear the disk spinning, especially in Metroid Prime 3
2. Middle: Playstation 3 (60Gb BC model)- Generally quiet, the fan starts whirring when playing some graphically taxing games, and for some reason when watching Blu-Rays. I usually have the volume up high enough to not notice.
3. Right: X-box 360- JET ENGINE! Disk spinning noise can get annoying at times as well.

360 is the loudest, followed by the wii, with the PS3 making the least amount of sound. My PS3 is a full BC 60gb model. But i guess it all depends on the model of system too, because sometimes the wii is louder then the 360. I have found the wii is also very loud at reading the disc, you can hear the little parts in it making tons of sounds when playing most games.

Well right now my Wii is the loudest, the disc drive keeps making a lot of noises.

This is very a very timely article for me, because my PS3 has been getting very loud after the first 30 mins-1 hour of playing Force Unleashed lately. It's a fairly new system, it's a Phat, but the PS3 from MGS4 bundle last year. Anyone having problems with their PS3 after just 1 year? My 360 is loud if there is the game isn't installed to the hard drive, otherwise it stays quiet all day. The Wii is definitely the quietest however, and from my experiences - doesn't get too hot either.

My X360 is silent as a mouse.

I'd have to say for me, my Wii is the quietest, my PS3 Slim is next, and then my X360. The loudest is of course my PC.
