So? GTA IV is at 13 million already, so 10 won't be enough to beat it. I think it might beat GTA IV though, actually scratch "might", it WILL beat it.

Does seem to be alot of people expecting this to be so much better than the first, even tho no one has played it yet, ive not even seen a proper preview.
Id bet on it being great, but like any other game i want reviews before i part with cash
@pullus pardus
we aren't counting wii/future wii versions of EITHER game at the moment as we have no data for them.

10 Million seems a little much (I know, Shio not you) but I'd be amazed if MW didn't do 3M at least on PC, though. The series started on that platform and has a big following. I know PC sales are tricky buggers to pin down, but it must have sold a fair bit on PC - and more than GTA IV I'm pretty sure - then their final tallies across all platforms might be closer than it seems purely from PS3/360.
OT - it might, but I'm not sure. The appetite for CoD and MW seems endless on PS3/360 (and yes a decent appetite on PC I'm sure), however WaW is still popular, particularly the Nazi Zombies bit, and I feel there is a chance MW2 might be arriving a little too soon for its own good. It'll open huge of course, but I think the drop of may be a little steeper than expected.
And of course, Gay Tony's going to drive additional GTA IV sales, right? Or do we feel the DLC for the title is now a minor factor vs big new titles at this time?
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
Wow Darth those MW2 predictions are insanely low. They are below CoD4 numbers.
I expect 9 million on 360, 5 million on PS3, for a total of 14 million, slightly more than GTA4. So, I say yes. GTA V may re-take the crown, though.

Yeah thats what I expect
most franchises do worse as the gen goes along
example, FF, GT, MGS & so on
unless COD pulls of a GTA & increases sales like GTA:VC & GTA:SA did

CoD4 sold significantly more than WaW last week.

WOAH!
wow @ PS3 COD4!
If I would find CoD4 MW in Austria I would buy it... but I don't find it anymore.
I borrowed it early 2008 until september 2008 from a friend so I never thought of buying it before I gave it back.
I think it has the chance off outselling GTA4 if they are promoting it well, else it will go as far as 11m max
