Why are you already defending yourself ? I haven't said anything...

I was just talking about the books, the backbone of the whole Halo stories.

Why would that have anything to do with how good the story of the game is. It is poorly told and not very interesting

no, I mean your examples of popular stuff being good, you mentioned the beatles, Shakespeare, etc...and truly popular stuff in videogaming would be GTA, FF, Gran Turismo, Super Mario, Wii Sports, Halo, Street Fighter...Metal Gear is not there as a franchise or any of the games.

Hata's gotta hate I guess. If you refuse to play ODST because of "Aging graphics" then are only hurting yourself. (looks at pre-order charts), yep, you are only hurting yourself. Or you could pull off some snobbery and continue.
