Forums - Gaming - Prediction - Dragon Quest X will be ported to the PS3

what would be the incentive of them to do this?

DQ has always gone to the system with the highest install base so why would this be any different?

@claude stop trolling. Also ssb is inferior. Obviously. It's gameplay is extremely shallow and singlesided.

It's clear that you have no idea what you're talking about. While I on the other hand do.

Furthermore it's pointless to argue with you so don't bother to reply. I know full well you just troll.

So you admit that you are a troll? If I'm saying exactly what you are saying but altering it to fit the game, then...

I've never seen any reasonable reply from you other than a constant trolling of the ps3 and sony in general. Therefore I see no point in debating with you as your views are obviously skewed.

I laughed a full 10 minutes after reading this exchange. I'll never look at Staude's posts the same. He knews what he's talking about. ROTFLMBO!!!!! I love seeing delusions on display. Remember - teh Internet is forever.

OT: No.

Wii sales have dropped in Japan every year YoY since 2007 actually.

2009 is trending to be the lowest year for the Wii in Japan.

The Wii has been in some trouble in Japan for a while I think, it was just masked by the fact that the PS3 was doing so much worse and Wii Fit carried the system through most of 2008.

A success, healthy platform does not having declining sales from year 2 to year 3 to year 4 of its console cycle. It should be accelerating not decelerating.

Lack of Pricecut for 3 years will do that to a console.

Wait to see what the pricecut does before saying the Wii isn't successful for healthy.

Regarding success... it has made nothing but profit for Nintendo since release, its already VERY successful.

Price cuts tend not to have as much of an impact in the Japanese market (historically).

In JAPAN the Wii situation is not healthy. Even Iwata has said that.

Personally I think Nintendo missed the boat with this one, they had great momenteum in Japan in 2007, and did not tighten the screws in 2008. With the DS you see the system exploded between 2005 (second year) to 2006 (third year) .... they really ramped up the releases.

With Wii this did not happen and now I think they are paying the price for it in Japan. Things like Monster Hunter 3 and NSMB Wii needed to be out *last year* in Japan.

It's not all of Nintendo's fault ... the console business has certainly declined in Japan and third parties deserve a lot of the blame for not supporting the system earlier on. But at this point, I think the damage is done.

All i can say about that is... wait and see.

Im sure you will be surprised.

Well Monster Hunter 3 + black Wii + Wii Sports Resort only provided a temporary boost.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii better be able to lift the platform on its shoulders and increase sales to a baseline of at least 25-30k a week for at least a few months. I think that's a tall order though.

The problem with all this I think is these new releases are intended to "shock" the Wii market in Japan back to life. It's like CPR to a person who's not breathing.

The issue here though is what Nintendo has done is its like waiting 20 minutes before giving someone CPR. There's a good chance you've waited too long.

Nintendo basically had nothing for the first six months of the year and "droughts" like that cause huge damage to a platform. They bet the farm last year on Wii Music and a piss poor effort in Animal Crossing on Wii, and when that didn't pan out, they had nothing.

Surprised relative to what?

2009 Wii sales in Japan are not going to match 2008 or 2007 even with a "wait and see" approach unless there is a Mario miracle.

If there was going to be a turnaround we should be right in the middle of it now with WSR + MH3.

What about 2010 sales?

I think they're hoping for the holy combo of Wii Sports + Wii Fit + Mario + Price Cut to serve as a ressurection spell on the Wii in Japan, if you will.

And here, take an avatar, a name like that needs one.

Doubt it, but it would be massive for the PS3.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Their 2010 lineup for Japan (I must stress I am speaking only about the Japanese market here) is not very good right now.

Super Mario Galaxy was a hit in Japan but not really a blockbuster. NSMB Wii in 2009 will be much bigger than SMG2 in 2010.

Metroid hasn't been relevant in Japan since Michael Jackson was still black. Zelda even if it makes it out next year, is a series that's in a decline in Japan (Twilight Princess I don't think even managed 500k in Japan).

The one ace that I think Nintendo may have for next year is that Wii Vitality Sensor. If that could take off like Wii Fit, it could buy them a chance to do ... something.

Square-Enix *must* help Nintendo next year. The Wii must have at least a Dragon Quest VII Remake or something like that.

DQ 10 will not be ported unless Monster Hunter 3 gets ported to PS3.
