Forums - Sony - ShopTo: PSPgo "ALMOST DEAD" on arrival !!

Why are we just assuming that the PSP go gives no profit to the retailers. It has been suggested to me that one of the reasons for the inflated price is that the retails get a larger cut, which seems like a sensible argument

Also the 16 gb of flash memory...

Which Pachter rekons costs less than the UMD drive...

I expect many retailers feel like this - although I'd argue it doesn't mean the Go is dead on arrival, just that's its different in a way retailers don't like.

I see this as an interesting experiment to see if people really want to go digital, and to see how the retailers respond, because if more and more gaming goes digital for games provision, we're going to here more retailers grumbling.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

i understand their hate...i hate it too that the PSP Go got no UMD reader...i want Disc got dammit and no unseen nothing on my PSP and my closet!

i really hope rhey do a PSP 4000 or PSP Go 2000 that looks like the Go + UMD reader and a little bit cheaper
...that would be easily 2-3 mill first week but this normal Go will sell but only for 1 week better than the DS if at all!

QFT

I would buy that when FF Agito 13 launches!

Especially since most stores don't make much profit on hardware. Though the PSP Go's price tag is probably that high so the retailers can get a larger cut.

Any company that doesn't want to sell it either trying to get free publicity for their store or has very bad business sense.

Well stores sell iTunes gift cards and soon they will be able to sell PSN cards. What else do they want?

Stores make money off all the iPod accessories like cases, headphones and cables. I just don't see the market for PSP accessories being that large. Retailers were very hesitant to sell iPods until they reaized people bought all kinds of crap for it.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

PSPgo was a bad idea. People want hard copies of games and DS is dominating.

Who even buys games in stores anyway? Online is where the good stuff is. Im all for DD, as long as there's an easy way to do backups and increase storage.
