I think next week's release of ODST will tighten the race a little bit.
But lets be honest, we're all looking forward to the WW2 of console wars this winter. :) My cable will never see more video game advertisements.

Thats what i mean. Sony has 3 of their main franchises yet to berth on this console gen FF, GT, GoW. (FF in japan and others due to brand recognition). And theyre all lined up now with an entry price of $299. This is the perfect storm im sure sony execs have been waiting for. Its the time for their move if they play their cards right.....but as we have seen in the past, Sony could easily ruin it, haha. |
Sony got a little arrogant and tried to push things a bit too much with their price point. They learned their mistake and I doubt another mistake of that magnitude will be made. There is a bit of a perfect storm coming. It is really exciting. This gen is pretty fascinating saleswise. So many factors.

I'm gonna be optimistic and say 250,000 next week. I like to live on the edge rofl. @ Slimebeast, I wouldnt say domination, Sony is just in a very nice place right now. :) |
oh i see. then i think they might achieve that mark. we will have to wait and see. and your right about that. they are making it interesting jajaja!.

The difference being that GT3 and FFX did not realease on the heels of a PS2 price cut. This changes the landscape significantly because a lot of GT and FF fans probably bought the console as the price dropped rather than wait until the release of GT5 and FFXIII. Not to mention, we are approaching holiday season which means people will wait until November probably.
^^it seems that everyone is saying around 240-250k, I say it will be 261k
300k is great number, as long as ps3 will continue to sell at same rate.
44% is not big drop off, so PS3 may stibilize at 250-300k on average for the rest of year. :)

I think there is a ToV bundle coming out in Japan....and it's got a lot of things added to the game from what I've heard. Could be wrong about the "lot" of things, but being able to play as Flynn is what has me excited about the game. |
no ToV bundle in Japan, Sony is still pissed :(
the game is doing very well so far, the 1st day # should be out pretty soon.
edit: your domed-o-meter match your new avatar perfectly

It (PS3's market share) might hit 30%, but definently not more. ~ Neo
