| FreeTalkLive rocks! said: I just rented Tiger Woods 08. I have only played three other golf games, Wii Sports, Golden Tee II, and Kirby's Dream Course. In order of my favorite: Wii Sports (golf games) Kirby's Dream Course Golden Tee II Tiger Woods 08 (but it is still a decent game). Sad fact: I actually get Nintendo Power. |
I thought Red Steel was acceptable, especially for a launch title with brand new control methods.
I'd give it more around a 7.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I would give it a 6 but that is because I was so dissapointed, If I didn't saw all those video's/trailers of this game I would probably gave it a 7.

You...don't like me?
That's harsh, I thought everyone liked me.
Metroid Prime 3 definitely blows Red Steel's control out of the water. And the cutscenes in Red Steel were lame.
Meh, Red Steel was fun for it's concept, not it's executions. :)
'twas a nice change of pace from the typical FPS games.
Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.
Red Steel had some good concepts: it was just lacking in the control aspect. I think the sequel will be a great game.
I bought it only recently (a long time after hearing all of the negative comments about it). I'd give it a 7 as it was better than what i had heard from most sources. Once you get used to the controls, they are acceptable.
But there are a lot of Red Steel'esque games out there with poor, unresponsive controls. I love Nintendo as much as the next person, but they need to seriously tighten up the controls in games for us hardcore fans. I know it's mostly the third party games that are to blame but its been a year now and they should be getting better. I want to see more of Metroid as that was fantastic.
Looking forward to the new Medal of Honour Heroes 2 among others - I heard it handles as well as Metroid!

It actually sounds better (control-wise). You can change the bounding box (or whatever it's called) size, the sensitivity, etc.. IGN says you can pull off a 180 degree turn faster than any console FPS to date.
I just hope the campaign is longer than five hours :(
My End of 2008 Hardware Predictions (console only):
Wii : 50 million
360: 28 million
PS3: 24 million
These predictions were made on January 3rd and won't be revised
Red Steel was a pretty solid first gen Wii game, people were just overhyped for it.. myself included
