Japan was always going to be the region that saw the biggest percentage increase, and hence will be the region to experience the biggest percentage drop.

I think we need a list of these "usual lunatics" so we know who to ignore during prediction threads
| kowenicki said: so... Japan approx 50k down 66% Europe approx 130k down 50% (based on France) USA approx 80k down 40% (assumed slightly better than Others) 260k Not a terrible drop by any means, the hysterical here that thought 350k to 400k was going to be a regular weekly thing might calm down a little now. It is week 3, 4 and 5 that matter more. I'm now expecting below 180k to 190k for week ending 19th |
I hope your predictions come true so I can win my bet with Carl2291...
Thats a gr8 result for 2nd week PS3 HW figures.. remember guys this was what ioi n source n other analysts expected for the PS3 slim launch week sales.. So if u see them without the %age drop than they are pretty impressive numbers.
If PS3 stays above 30k for the rest of the yr till Jan in Japan, than i believe PS3 slim will be considered as a success in my view.
Pretty close to what I was expecting (60k).
My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957
Not too bad. I was thinking 50% drop second week so about 265K overall. I predict a 40% drop on the week after so about 160K next week leveling out to about 120K. Still good numbers overall I think.
Wow, good numbers for PS3 IMHO. 60k is quite good for Japan only. Let's see how it does in Others and Americas. I'm afraid it won't make it over 200k... but that's not a bad figure at all.

Wii HW higher than PS3 HW for the week ending 19th September.

Consider how few people owned a 360 in Japan when ToV launched, thats not a big jump. A lot more people own a PS3, especially the crowd that would buy ToV - the rpg fans who bought a ps3 for the FF13 demo. I'm just saying, if you expect 50k for ToV, you're going to be very disappointed. Id suggest 30-35k next week, followed by a lock-in around 20k for the remainder of the holiday season
