By cutting the price of the PS3 i think that a lot of us are going to be dissappointed.

it is sheer business imcompetence, this isnt going to increase sales in the long term.  sales were alreadey going up and steadying out due to infamous but now every forum dwelling 'analyst' is going to think this was the result of the price cut. this will simply make people wait for more price cuts. creating a players value choice which sells games for $10 would have been sufficient to boost system sales. this is a clear sign that Sony has no huge software for 2010 and that they have no faith whatsoever in the abillity  of GT5 or FFXIII to move hardware.Now they are accepting defeat that they cant  maintain the PS3's value. They will never again be able to charge that $399 price which means revenue will be lost

Sony could have got the momemtum it needed from, FF XIII and GT5, but have instead they have done this which i think is very bad. Yes it may help them reach their 13 million projection but that is very short term thinking. in the longer term the revenue lost from this could mean that not enough money is investe into the PS4 and it turns out to be a poor console. think about it logically, if the PS3  sells

as i care for only a certain type of game, sony has made some uninteresting games recently, but now they are making uninteresting businss decisions. This is very important since making interesting decisions is a major reason why gamers support their company of choice

One must also not forget that this a betryal of their 2 job ocean stratergy.  this stratergy entails that interest in the console is so high that people will have to get 2 jobs to get the console. before this generation companies only targeted people with 1 job but sony has been expanding the market to include people with multiple jobs. But at this price point you can get a PS3 with only 1 means of employment, and it doesnt even have to pay that well!

on a final note this new is dissappointing as we dont get to see epic internet meltdowns of xbox fans when they get beaten by a much more expensive console. it is also means that people who bet 'no PS3 price cut in 2009'   in their sigs have lost the best which is dissappointing
