Actually I played all of the FFs and all of Personas.

two epic games, but i give the edge to ffvii

It's obviously cooler to say P4, but in reality, P4 is an above average jrpg in a sea of mediocrity, and FFVII is one, if not the best jrpgs of all time.

I mean, I loved Vesperia, but I would be doing my own reputation a disservice to claim it is better than any FF game ever released.

So no, P4 isn't better than FFVII, it isn't better than any real FF game ever made, and no Persona game ever will be.

That might seem like a harsh opinion to those who prefer the opinion that everything is completely subjective, but I'm fairly certain that most gaming professionals, and indeed most gamers, would agree with me on that point.

P4 is alright though. Unbelievably repetitive dungeon and slow, slow introduction, antiquated one time only events, tons of missable crap, and predictable ending, but fun, hip artstyle and characters, and a feeling or sense that the game is greater than the sum of its parts.

I give it a 9/10.

FFVII is a 10/10, in my eyes, and it couldn't get much better.

Needless to say, in 10 years, if you ask that question, the most common response will be "What is Persona 4?"

Seems to be the cult classic of the moment though, so I'll stop opinionating you all up about it.

Another note, FFVII virtually created the genre as we see it now, and imo, it still did a better job than P4 did all those years later. :P That's just my opinion.

You are just so brutal in picking my two favorite RPGs. Persona 4, but barely.

ill admit FFVII is better than P4. But it is undeniably better than most FF games. FFIX, VIII and most definitely XII pale in comparison to this gem. And to say that ten years down the road weill forget this game is an utter joke. I for one will always remember epic games always no question about it. And P4 fits this catagory perfectly it SHALL BE REMEMBERED!!!!

In reality, FFVIII is the best game in the series, and your flaming of it, makes me of the opinion that you mights not know the meaning of the words you speak sir.

Combat wise P4 was a force to be reckoned with. "Follow Ups" for the WIN!!!!
