I just snagged Valkyria for $20 from Wal-mart yesterday. Thanks to whoever pointed that out (can't find the thread).

OT: Go Valkyria

i'm not sure, so many of the old games don't have numbers for the west. Sakura Wars sold 550k, only released in Japan. The SNES ogre battle games may have had big sales, but I can't find any info about it. Shining force 1 or 2 on genesis might have had high enough sales. I imagine there are others I can't think of.

VC is like one of the biggest SRPGs out right now huh? It outsold the last Wii Fire Emblem.

I guess as far as this gen, VC is the best selling SRPG on consoles(?), we'll see how well VC2 sells againest FFT A2 (610k) and FFT war of the lions(650k) on handhelds.

Not yet: we don't know the exact numbers for Radiant Dawn, since we don't know what it sold in Others.

One of these days I'll need to play Valkyria Chronicles so I can see for myself which is better...

@Khuutra, considering that when you compare the regions we have data for both and VC is at 430k while Radiant Dawn is at 410k I think it's a fair assumption that VC has sold better. Would be hard to argue that Radiant Dawn did better in Others by enough to make up the difference.

We'll never know how much it sold in Others. In fact, we don't have Others sales for a single Fire Emblem game and I doubt we ever will.

Just looked up some info on the data base, and i'd have to agree with you it makes sense, even if so, VC has most likely outsold it, even if its by a small amount.

Given that the majority of VC's sales were in Japan and Fire Emblem outsold it by 30k in the US, I would argue that no, it is not so cut and dry.

Fire Emblem has more working against its others sales than VC does.  VC released in Others before NA while Fire Emblem released months after.  if you assume that the percentage difference between the Amerca sales of FE and VC was the same for Others (which is probably being generous) far as my math shows VC still wins.
