Forums - Nintendo - Dream Wii "Action Sets"

Who knows what Nintendo is up to. Anybody want to volunteer to sneak into HQ and hide in the conference room or tap Iwata's phone?

In any case, speculation away!:

First cut the original White Wii to $170-200 w/o Wii Sports and start selling Wii Sports standalone. This is the base model. Also comes in black and pink! The idea is that not everyone buying a Wii wants Wii Sports with it.

Then...

Blue ocean-colored Wii console, remote, nunchuk
Wii Sports Resort included w/ Motion Plus
Original Wii Sports also included
$250

Then...

Light Green Wii console, remote, nunchuk
Wii Fit Plus included w/ Balance Board
$300

That's it! Basically bundle the two most important peripherals with their respective software. The name brand of the bundles would be the "Wii Plus" and then followed by what it's bundled with. They could be redesigned consoles to be sleeker (maybe not smaller). Also fix the syncing issues with remotes and include a charger for the remotes.

Hopes are raised! Time for Nintendo to bring them crashing down!

Why would they cut the price of the Wii to $170? there is no reason to do that, that would be foolish considering the strategy Nintendo has been using with the Wii, anything less than $200 for a Wii without Wii sports wouldn't make any sense if Nintendo is sticking with Blue ocean strategy.

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

You need a Wii Fit bundle:

White Wii
1 Remote
1 Nunchuk
Balance Board
Wii Sports
Wii Fit Plus
$269

I think new Wii bundles are the best way forward. I think a NSMB Wii bundle and Wii Fit Plus bundle would do best. Cut the Wii Sports bundle to $199, then have NSMB Wii bundle at $249 (with 2 Wiimotes in) and have Wii Fit Plus bundle at $299.

If they are going to cut it to $200, they'd just pull out Wii sports, since they have Wii Sports resort out, and have the NSMB Wii bundle take the $250 slot

1. Wii & Wii Sports & 1 remote & 1 nunchuk game for $199
2. Wii & Wii Sports & WSR & 2 remotes with M+ & 2 nunchucks for $249
3. Wii & Wii Sports & Wii Fit+ & balance board & 1 remote & 1 nunchuk for $249

Thats all they need to do for sales record this year. Price cut & more value bundles without confusing consumers though.

i agree with this. they def need to make up some intersting bundles, the nes and snes had tons.

love all the ones in the OP, but think they should all be $50 cheaper. a wii fit one with a balance board like faithraven said would also be a great idea.

I don't think they will, I'm just saying that I hope it will happen someday, eventually, but probably not.

If we're talking about what's really going to happen, then of course they're not going to do anything. Their hardware projections will be revised if the current decline in sales continues through the holidays. Then they will focus on bringing more "disruptive" games to market next year.

Too complicated for most consumers, too much choice makes people irritated sometimes, my guess is they offer a Wii with Mario, one remote and one nunchuck for 250 and maybe a Wii without a game for 200 if anything does happen in october

Complicated? How exactly? If they don't like the bundles they can always go for the standard Wii and then buy the games they want separately. If the customers have more choices, then they are more likely to end up buying one, as opposed to when only having one choice. Plus this bundles will offer better value than a standalone Wii, so it may be good for those willing to spend more money on the first day because it will mean they saved some $$.

But Nintendo will never offer bundles that are better value than other bundles they offer. So I doubt that Mario Kart/NSMBWii bundle will ever happen. The core one seems more reasonable, but so does a Player's Choice catalogue along with multiple colored Wii's and remotes on top of a pricecut.

I'm still appaled by the lack of choices Nintendo gives to their customers when they go into a shop to buy a Wii. DS has plenty of choices of all kinds (Different models, colours, prices, bundles, special editions) Wii has none.

If memory serves me right.. women happen to love choices, its a bit masochist (im not sure thats how its spelled on english) and those bundles are too good to be overseen if i didnt had a wii right now i would buy them for sure, the price is pretty low for all that stuff

Nintendo is the best videogames company ever!

I would want the Multilayer gamer's pack for $350

White Wii
4 Wii Remotes
4 Nunchucks
Wii Sports
New Super Mario Bros Wii
Mario Kart Wii
Super Smash Brothers Brawl

Edit: and a gunman bundle:

Black Wii

2 Wii Remotes

2 Nunchucks

2 Zappers w/ 1 copy of Link's Crossbow Training

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles

House of the Dead

The Conduct w/ Wii Speak
