Forums - Nintendo - RUMOR - Leaked EA email shows commitment to quality on Wii

Other than the foolish reliance on critics for perceived "quality," they seem like a developer who has their head on straight.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

Based on how the WSJ provided the entire email, and the absence of anything particularly interesting, I doubt it was an actual leak.

Demon's Souls Official Thread  | Currently playing: Left 4 Dead 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Magicka

All I can see is a commitment to quality on all consoles, and as a company wide ethos. Not just the Wii.

Sure, they mention they want to succeed on the Wii, but so do Ubisoft and Activision :P.

It's a pretty boring leak anyway.

hmmmm

I didn't hear anything about making a good Red Alert, oh I forgot. Only Westwood made those.

I'm happy they are starting to support Wii though. So I both like them and hate them at the same time. This is confusing :S

I LOVE ICELAND!

If EA continues to send 200 dollar checks to reviewers, that 80 rating will be easy to obtain

LOL, I don't "like" them for having enough common sense to support the market leader, I merely don't hate them with a passion like the rest of the industry.

Shouldn't they have figured out last year that highly rated games don't really make you money? Pursuing quality is noble, and certainly can make bank when properly applied, but it shouldn't be the ultimate end, especially quality as the increasing insular critics perceive it.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

This was leaked on purpose for creating a good image or something, if it was true it would say "Do we still have to develop games for the kiddy console?"

Nintendo is the best videogames company ever!

Based on the fact that EA has released 3x more titles on the Wii this year than the other consoles combined, I kind of figured this news out myself.

Six upcoming games you should look into:
