Forums - Sony - L.A Noire coming to 360 & PC, Is it no longer a PS3 exclusive?

1st: That was obvious. There were many hints that it's multiplat.
2nd: So why is this in the Sony discussion again ?

I hope keeping it under 8GB doesn't take too much away from the game. I was really looking forward ot this one.

Xbox 360 compresses game data, the PS3 does not. So the game itself can be like 12 GB big on the PS3 while the 360 version fits on a double layer DVD. (Don't know the real compression rate though)

I'm pretty sure the compression ratio is still way below a 50GB.  12GB at most.  They're using some new special lighting engine and keeping it under 8.7 GB might hinder that.  Hoepfully not by a lot.

I'm so intrigued by this game. I would be glad if it came to the x360.

What is the game about?

It looks like Alan wake or Zombies.

GTA meets 1930 pulp Noir, you play a detective in the hight of pre world war 2 crime syndicate. Well that's what I believe it is from the trailers and bits of information. I could be wrong and it's a linear shooter, but I think my first answer is more right.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

This has been common knowledge for quite a while, just Rockstar refuse to confirm it for some reason.

Actually you can use only about 6.8Gb with Dual Layer DVD in X360. Rest of the space is for MS security files.

This was to be expected, unless Sony made them a sweet deal there is no point in going exclusive. You might wan tto take the most out of an system but in the end your doing it to make profit and to please the fans and that's best done by letting all the fans enjoy it. As for the discs, it's not as if it's one huge openworld that takes up more then 8gb and makes disc swapping impossible. You can easily split a game into two parts, so even if the PS3 version comes out first then a 360 and PC version will follow eventually.

Was it ever announced as PS3 exclusive? I think people assumed this was the exclusive game. Once Agent was announced as PS3 exclusive, it became pretty obvious that La Noire was multiplat.

Why is this in the Sony section and not in the gaming section? Oh wait, I know why.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

I thought people only assumed LA Noire was exclusive? Isn't there still some exclusive unannounced game?

Via Playstation blog:

Rockstar really wanted to make a game that you can truly only do on PS3, harnessing the power of CELL and Blu-ray disc and this deal lets them do just that.. This is really a win-win situation for both companies. As Jack mentioned in the interview with Geoff, this franchise is not LA Noire, but something all new. We agreed with Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive Software that we wouldn’t disclose anything more about the deal or title at this time, so stay tuned, we’ll share more info as soon as we can.
