The PS3, unlike the Playstation 2, is not for everyone. It doesn't have any games that are enjoyable to everyone. Furthermore, DS3 controls are not going to be liked by every gamer, and that's because the DS3 does not work for all genre's. You guys shouldn't fool yourselfs into thinking that everyone is going to love the PS3. It just isn't going to happen.

 Fixed.

Is it really that unfathomable to simply not like the idea of a plump mexican plumber driving a kart or playing golf or soccer or what not?

Are we talking about games still, or plumbing?

This is the one I love.

He says motion controls aren't for everyone/every game.

You say the equivalent of "Well duh, don't use motion controls. Use XYZ control setup.  Look at ABC game that doesn't use them."

You just agreed with him and don't want to admit it.

I never said I agreed or disagreed with motion-control.  If you re-read accurately and outloud you might notice that the OP is stating since Wii has motion control it is doomed, because not everyone likes motion control.

This is like saying, since I hate football video games (despite loving football) I can not possibly like PS3 or XBox360.  Why?  Because they have football games!  (Gag gag gag, I hate hate hate, therefore I will not buy a PS3 XBox360).

This is silly.  Why?  Because that also means I would be hypocritical in saying this, since Wii games also consist of football games.  The OP is ignoring that, and apparently you've ignored the OP entirely as well, getting back at the actual argument from HIM, not me, that motion control means a console is doomed.

You say you met no one that disliked the Wii.

I say I have.

This point really should have died at that point.  Now it's like an undead zombie:  smelly, ugly, and staggering about trying to consume people's brains.  ^_^

I say this, you say that.  I say I've met another dozen people who love Wii, who's to say I'm wrong?  Or right?  OP says what he wants, I can say what I want too.  But, you have to go back to the points, not the selective words you wish to read.  The points.

Numbers: Checker Players > Halo Players

Checkers Age and replayability > Halo Age and replayability

Therefore, Checkers > Halo

So, Checkers is a better game than Halo.

Are we talking about games still, or plumbing?

You did know Mario was Mexican right?

It was a simple statement "motion controls are not going to be liked by every gamer, and that's because the Wii-mote does not work for all genre's."

You've made far too much of it.  The first part is undeniable.  The second part is arguable at best.

Um... now you're just rambling.

Your arguments are starting to run out a steam.  Think on it for a while and come back.  I'm enjoying this.

I'll give it a try, seems to be the popular thing today.

1) The Playstation 2 wasn't for everyone either, it sold "only" 120m units worldwide, but there's a lot of room for growth in this industry, even in the already established markets.

2) The Wii is less than 1 year on the market. No console ever had a large library at this point in its lifetime. However, I dare to say that the Wii's first year lineup is better than what the PS2 had in its first year and the future outlook is very promising for the Wii's second year.

3) If this point shall prove that the Wii won't sell to gamers who dislike motion controls, I have to say this: If games are exclusively released for the Wii, let's say strategy RPGs which won't use motion controls anyway, gamers will get a Wii for these games, because they can't get them anywhere else. The majority of gamers each generation goes where the most exclusive games are and that's why the Wii will sell even to those who dislike motion controls.

4) You are right. Whoever thinks that everyone is going to love the Wii is insane. That's just not reasonable. Chocolate is great, so is cake. But there are still people who don't love these things.

EDIT: fkusumot, your response was by far the best.

Bah.  Stuff I can't argue with.  Way to ruin the fun Rol.

Mario is Spanish, not Mexican.

OT: Article is so stupid it hurts me physically.

@grandmaster - lol hahahhahahahaha.

Wii has by far a much wider array of games then either ps3 or 360 now. By this time next year it will have the largest library and the widest possible selection, that in itself will seal the deal and make it the people's console. Just like it did for the PS1 and PS2.

Umm I thought he and Luigi, being brothers, are Italian.

Well Wii is selling on par with PS2, that means no expansion.

"The Wii is less than 1 year on the market. No console ever had a large library at this point in its lifetime. However, I dare to say that the Wii's first year lineup is better than what the PS2 had in its first year and the future outlook is very promising for the Wii's second year."

That is no excuse for having so many crappy PS2 minigame ports.

"If this point shall prove that the Wii won't sell to gamers who dislike motion controls, I have to say this: If games are exclusively released for the Wii, let's say strategy RPGs which won't use motion controls anyway, gamers will get a Wii for these games, because they can't get them anywhere else. There will be too many motioned games for those who hate to care about those games.

"You are right. Whoever thinks that everyone is going to love the Wii is insane. That's just not reasonable. Chocolate is great, so is cake. But there are still people who don't love these things."

Cake>Chocolate.

There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.
