Forums - Website Topics - Ideas wanted - analyst roundtable

5 people would be really hard to follow on a podcast. If you go that route, maybe introduce each speaker before they speak. Like if a speaker is about to say something, they could start the sentence with X here or just their name.

The public IM chat idea sounds good

I doubt anyone would want to hear my nerdy pasty voice.

JK. My voice is only mildly annoying.
I don't have Video Chatting or whatever you call it. And I doubt my mother would let me have a video debate over the internet about video game sales with complete strangers. A text one is much better for me.

I will never leave you

Both an Public IM and an audio podcast would work great in my opinion. You'll have to consider for yourself which is best. Do you want to get the best out of the audience or do you want to have it sound more real and professional (through audio)?

Well I think some are missing the point. We have got analysts together from outside of VGC and this will be like a debate - a discussion of upcoming trends, recent data releases etc - very much from an industry point of view. So it's certainly not redundant!

We could certainly submit questions beforehand and have a pre-prepared agenda to discuss but i liked the idea of it being "live" and making a big event of it. Will be the only time you guys can ask the questions to these guys and get the answers you are interested in.

I think we need more than just text - either voice or video, but the problem with video is that we won't all be in the same room so it will be webcam-style videos.

I suppose if you bring in some outsiders it would be worth it for exclusive opinions from new people those who frequent this site arent exposed to.

But the mods and most of the people writing headlines or analysis or previews are active on the forums and known by the community.

This place is primarily a forum to begin with. Having a forum on a forum is redundant to me and when the roundtables were posted a while ago it was sort of pointless because those taking part already voice opinions in the dedicated threads or headlines of the forum.

I think there should just be something new. I love the new preorder trackers, thats a good addition.

I think its essential that outsiders with credibility are the focus of the podcasts or discussions to offer new opinions and views to the site.

Lol, I'm not a Southerner - I'm British. Doubt many of you would understand my accent

Southern British. Do you have a posh accent? Liverpudlian? Cockney?

I'm interested now, too.

OT: To be mildly helpful, I think it should be a video debate between The Analysts. It would be like those CNN programs where people just argue for half and hour and you can never understand everything because everyone is trying to be the loudest. Maybe a text chat that all of you can see, but only open to 5000+ posters, mods and admins, maybe? That'll keep out the NFG Spam and adverts.

public IM chat.

That would be the best IMO that we you guys can be talking about stuff while you guys here us bitch about things. :D
