so, people, lets discuss toshinden.

Around the Network

I hated Toshinden. I actually bit the disc in half, back in 1996. Those were great times!

Toshinden was great back then, until Soul Blade came out. I threw out Toshinden as quick as a hiccup. Soul Blade, Samurai Showdown and Bushido Blade were the top sword fighting games at that time.

I remember seeing the wii shots a while back.. not a very good looking remake.. I remember playing the early versions on the PC.. it wasnt too bad.... thought tekken n VF and soul edge were waaay superior

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

5 THINGS I'd like to see before i knock out:

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"

c. redesgined PS controller

d. SEGA back in the console business

e. M$ out of the OS business

i had 1,2,3 loved them alot, they're pretty unique.

Not me! Never got to play them and everyone I know tells me to avoid the series.

Toshinden 5 isn't looking too great either.

i love them for the fact that they are 3d fighters that dont use preset combos. preset combos slowly started to get bad. tekken 1-4 were alright havent played 5.soul series was good until soul cal 2 after that it went down hill.virtua fighter was the first 3d fighter and was good back then. never paid much attention to it after that.

what toshinden lacks in graphics it makes up for in unique gameplay.

the original shots shown last year are far outdated. if you want to see what it looks like now check the link i put up or i can post them here.

edit: for such a bad series it definately had plenty of games. XP

The only thing that was unique about the games was the front and back rolling.

with the exception of 3 they are also the only 3d fighters ive ever experienced that used combo systems instead of preset combos.

with preset combos creative play was removed from fighting games and it led to people just trying to "master" the longest and/or cheapest combos to spam again and again. now all fighting games are prone to spamming. but preset combos feel like they encourage it. look at soul cal 4 as a prime example.

I liked it a lot better than Tekken on PS but I haven't played a Toshinden game since.
