The ps3 has dropped the only thing holding it back (price), if you think 360 and wii will do better during the holiday you are sadly mistaken.

If you wish to argue with me based on nothing then you are sadly mistaken. Either rebutt what I say or don't waste my time.
People I'm not here to argue what you think the outcome should be. I'm here to take the thread seriously. Given all we know about PS3 and 360 going into this holiday season we are trying to figure out who has more bang for their buck. I'm thinking still right now 360 may have an edge but I'm not saying they have a dominant edge or the edge that is guaranteed to stay 3 weeks from now. Don't sit here and argue your personal logisitics with me.

Yes we all understand the potential is there. I don't think that needs to be restated. I've stated numerous times with all this potential Sony could even hit their fiscal projections of 13 million. That would obviously be quite extraordinary.
However I can't base future sales off of first week sales. It doesn't suggest anything other than the hype and the want was there. But even more so first week is more a representation of people who were already looking to get a PS3 and not got to save a $100. To really gear a holiday season you have to look at future sales in the next 4-8 weeks. These are the kinds of people who will be buying it during the holiday season. Those who hadn't necessarily considered a PS3 but have heard of the brand or those who were simply looking for a video game console. These are who you try to win over in the holiday season. If Sony continues strong sales for the next 4-8 weeks and is able to maintain it's brand, then the holiday season may be an easy win. Especially in Japan with FFXIII coming out.
But you can't tell that now. Most certainly GT5 would help the cause but it isn't confirmed yet. I think eventually I'm going to have to come out and say my 9-10 milllion PS3 FY10 shipment prediction will be too low but I can't base that change off first week of sales. The potentialy is there for Sony and everything is setup right to have a strong holiday season. But if you know anything off of sales trends... sometimes it's just not enough. My biggest thing I have facing Sony right now is brand. They've taken quite a bit of time in America and now Europe of having Wii and 360 be dominant brands over them. That is going to be pretty hard to overcome when it comes to those holiday season buyers. If anything were to stop them especially if GT5 comes out... that would be it.
