I'm a little surprised that it sold over half a million, I was expecting 400K to be its max, so its an impressive number to be sure, but the question is can it sustain, or will we see a huge plummet over the next 2-3 weeks, still an impressive first week

Well I expected it to be an explosive start, not this explosive. I had it in about the 300k-400k region if I remember correctly. So obviously 500k comes at a surprise to me.

I said about 50k in Japan.... I did not expect this, in fact, no sane person did, this is Spartan

In the japan prediction thread some users predicted 100k easily for japan, while others predicted as low as 40k(lol). Most people underestimated japan big time, my personal prediction for japan was in the 100k range but I expect it to level off to about 10% of the wii's weekly sales.

I don't see why it wouldn't beat the X360 during the holidays, last year in 2008 the PS3 outsold the X360 almost everyday right up until it got the price cut, and it was still like a $100 more expensive yet it was outselling it. Now that they're basically the same price it's almost obvious the PS3 will continue to outsell it. Hell the Wii is going to be in trouble for a while.
