Forums - Gaming - FF13 not downgraded because of 360

Sorry.. but majority of multiplatform games look better on the 360, so I don't believe that FF looking bad is 360 fault..

Like if an article says "it's because of the 360" everyone jumps on the trash talk ban wagon, but if another article says "thats not the case" it's not true, and full of excuses?

I thought they were working on the PS3 version, then working on the 360 version? I know I seen SqE talk about that several times..

If that is the case, whats the problem? When they finish they port it to a 360..

Regardless you don't blame the 360, you blame the developer.

Except that's already a lie because they already have the 360 version up and running....even though they aren't even supposed to have even THOUGHT about that version yet. At least according to them. Not only that, the 360 version is supposed to be at 0% done when the PS3 version hits 100%. So what's this business about the 360 version being at 70% done....and the PS3 version isn't even done yet?

Geez guys, don't blame Square Enix for the PS3 being a failure. It's not their fault they can't rely on Sony a lone for outstanding sales.

Well the way SO4 and TLR sold they can't rely on the 360 ether.

He's actually quite right you know. When he says that he's referring to the PS2 and PSX's exclusive third party dominance. They could hold the sales of a SE exclusive on their own and now they cannot. The Xbox 360 is a breath of fresh air to SE because they can make an equal yet less costly version of the game.

Their games selling like ass...is a breath of fresh air to them? I'd say it's a breath of NEW air..but nothing close to fresh

Everyone knows that the reason multiplats looked better on 360 up until this point was because it was the lead platform and easier to program for. Will this change? Doubtful so long as there are lazy devs and easy money on the 360. The PS3 will be destined to be shortchanged outside of exclusives to the console. FFXIII is being downgraded because it was moneyhatted to the 360. SE will of couse say everything they have been saying because they were paid by MS to say it. This is my view, and 360 is my main console. I will be getting the 360 version because of achievements. But had they been seperately coded games for each console I would have gone the PS3 route to see the game as the they had originally intended.

AceRock owns one PS3, one PS Vita, and one PS4.

Yep and thats why they need this graphics stuff to die so they put this accuse up of why it doesn't look like what it did years ago, but some PS3 owners don't buy it. The last thing you want to do is piss off a fanbase you haven't supported yet. Because if you do they will start a PSN petition to not buy your game and trust me it will go bad. Look at what it did for MW2 DLC. Robert from IW was worried about it and made a response stating that it was coming to PS3 but at a later time because word was getting around fast that it wasn't coming to PS3.

GamerTag/PSN ID JoshmyersBV (please add me I have 2 friends on Xbox Live)

Sure it's not. Keep on telling yourself that.

Yea..cuz all 360 exclusives look horrible......

jesus, teh fanboyism in this thread is retardedly high.

If they were smart, they'd just drop support for whichever system is set to yield them less income, so they can optimize it more for the one that will make them the most money, so that they can squeeze every last dime out of it.

That's right, they should cut support for the PS3. Developing it for the 360 would make it much easier to port to PC anyway, since you have to write it in sanskrit w/ voodoo chicken blood to optimize it for the PS3.

the only thing i feel the ps3 version has lost is the Japanese voice acting.
even if the graphics did get "downgraded" it would of been by so little, and to hear people complaining about it as if the game is not even coming to their platform anymore is just........

it would be nice if people could just come out and say that they're upset because of the loss of exclusivity.

If they cut support for the ps3, and port it to pc instead, then i expect #of_pirates times less sales.

It is a breath of fresh air. The 360 and the PS3's installed bases combined with the dwindling appreciation factor for JRPG's will help FFXIII. I really do think that if the 360 sells over a million copies that they should get Versus. It would be hilarious if that was announced at E3 next year.
