I didn't find the voice acting to be bad in the game. Lip syncing is fairly small an issue.

I am surprised by the amount of hate FFX has on this topic. I has the idea the game was very well regarded.

It is. VGC seems to have this superiority complex that all Final Fantasy games after 6 are crap.

Not really. I thought 7 8 and 9 were great. 4 sucked. 10 was alright and 12 sucked.

My only complaint about 10 was the final boss. Other than that I liked it. I liked 12 too but I agree that it wasn't as good as the others. I didn't get the chance to play 9. 8 was a little weird for my taste yet still good and 7 was my favorite. I was 10 when it came out so I didn't play anything before 7.

My rank would be 7 > 10 > 8 > 12

Same thing with NeoGAF.  If it is a FF game and it isn't VI, they will trash it.  Especially VIII.

An article I read exaggerated FFX's "flaws".

The person thought the voice acting was weak.  I know people have opinions but his is uncredible because it bases it purely on Tidus and Yuna.  He even praised the voices of other characters, Rikku comes to mind.  Tidus and Yuna's English VA did some from issues but they still could have been way worse.

He also said that after VII, FF became a product purely for making money.  FFX actually had effort put into it from every area possible.  I don't want to be unfair towards FFXII since I don't really know how I feel about that game.  I haven't played any other of the post VII FF games but I can honestly say that FFX is not some product just for making money.

The game is terribly slow to start, it does pick up, but it's probably one of the slowest and somewhat tedious Final Fantasy games. And as for the things that make you cringe get used to it, it has many moments like that, make a reply to the laughing scene with Tidus and Yuna you'll know the one when you get to it, I'd love to see your reaction.

Hopefully you get more enjoyment out of it then I did, the story overall was pretty cringe worthy for me, some of the twists were atrocious.

Not true. The only Final Fantasy game that I would call anything close to "crap" was Final Fantasy III. I've enjoyed every other game in the series to varying degrees. Final Fantasy X just happens to be one of my least favourites for the reasons that I listed, and it seems that many people agree with me.

It has nothing to do with a "superiority compex". Final Fantasy VI may be my favourite game in the series, but I would say that Final Fantasy IX is second, and we both know that it was released after VI.

You shouldn't generalize like that, because it makes you seem intolerant of the opinions of others, and we both know that you're not like that.
