Kylie you are negative about enough games that I'm going to treat you as an outlier. No offense to you.

I highlight negatives when others (often blindly) overlook them.  That is not being negative, more just being thorough.

The point of a game isn't to thorougly criticize it and evaluate it for flaws.

Everything has flaws.

If a game is so good, that its flaws cease to matter, then you should overlook them, not dwell on them.

Even as a reviewer, brief mentions of notable flaws in an otherwise fantastic game are all that is requisite.

Unless your point is to be negative and cynical, in which case, no one should believe your reviews anyway.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

If your tastes are anything remotely similar to mine, you'll find that the game pretty much never picks up. Most of the characters are really lame, and like you said, there is really bad writing and dialogue. The voice acting gets worse when the dialogue becomes more ''emotional'', and there is a certain scene that is arguably the corniest cutscene ever produced. The inablility to skip cutscenes will really become a detriment as you progress through the game.

Luckily the gameplay and battle system are, in my opinion, really good, so you might find it worth your while to keep on truckin' through the game.

@khuutra

careful khuutra.....you will get VERY addicted to it as zenfolder said once you learn the grid sphere system

You will KEEP on wanting to battle just to get more sphere's & just to unlock that one extra spell for lulu before the next boss......so on & so forth

Using Yuna's summons is a TREAT

& once again the BATTLE theme pumps you with epicness & adrenaline!

ok I'm waffling now.....but it is my favorite FF....so I'm allowed to

NO NO, NO NO NO.

No one compare FFX to Star Ocean The Last Hope. Especially since the latter's writing and voice acting are sincerely atrocious. FFX just takes some time to get used to.

I appreciate the elucidation and all, but please refer to the first line of the OP. If this turns into an argument about FFXII, I'm going to blame you personally.

At the end of the game, you will find something out about the battle system in X that will totally blow your mind.

Thank you, that is appreciated.

After reading your edit, Kylie, I can see what you meant to say. I apologize for jumping to conclusions concerning your intent with your original post.

I'll plug through for a little while longer, at least. The battle system is pretty fun.
