Tell that the the DC and PSP.

The PSP piracy problem doesnt have anything to do with its Media format (best and worst kind)
but doesnt the DC use CD's ?

no money, no killer apps, they already sold off 2K sports, yu suzuki has left the building, sonic is in shambles and most franchise rehashes have been crap- Nights, golden axe, sega rally revo.. which was avg at best.

I think that sums it up...

but no more Mario & Sonic at [insert various sports] franchise! isn't that a huge selling point for the Wii?...isn't it?

Why not? Sega and Nintendo have done cross platform stuff before. F-zero, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, etc. I think it would be cool to see two versions of Mario & Sonic, one for the new SEGA console, and one for Wii HD. With a 4 player console field, I could see ad hoc tag teams forming for different games.

There was a Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games for a Sega console?

No, but it was a collaboration. I think it would be cool though to have a crossover game on two consoles, though. Nintendo and SEGA have done collaborations before, so it would not be a stretch.

SEGA definitely has the money, has killer apps (I listed them), 2K can go to hell, sonic continues to sell even with lower quality releases, though I like Unleashed quite a bit. Also, I certainly did not cite the franchise rehashes that you did above as good remakes (they did suck).

Yu Suzuki hopefully can be lured back.

I'm as big a SEGA fan as they come.. but they're annual profits have been dropping for the last 3 years... even with a stellar title like SM:OG they reported a loss last quarter... SEGA just isnt as big at it used to be.. this isnt the DC-era SEGA we all knew and loved.. Nintendo, MS and SONY have revenues 10-15 times higher so SEGA is small fish now..

They could collaborate with maybe samsung on a new console or maybe even apple but apart from that I dont see much else happening here- they dont have the finances or industry backing to go on their own.

The best I'd hope for is a handheld in partnership with a biggie.

^ When did Yo Suzuki leave?

I LOVE ICELAND!

Sega don't have the money, the resources, the games or the fanbase to get back in the console business.
