Maybe he was worried about people stealing information?

I assume since you can connect any hard drive to the PS3 you can connect the PS3 hard drive to a PC and just format it a few times.

Speaking of Hard drives, the HDD for the 120gb PS3 slim is different (the casing of the HDD) than the 60gb's. So you cant just put it in side the console and be done with it, you will have to get the proper casing to fix the HDD into the slot it goes in, on the ps3 slim.

I don't understand. The 'casing' is a part of the HDD or the PS3?

I took it as the HDD has a rail it fits into, which then slides into the PS3...I think?

lets play LBP sometime!

You've never offered to play LBP with me ;_;

Even after I hosted your show for two episodes and then left it to die!

Just submit a customer service web request to Sony and ask them to deactivate your 60 Gig PS3. I did it and it was completed in 2 days. Also, you should consider spending the $150 to get a refurbed 60 gig. People will pay a lot for it on ebay.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

How do I do that? Send them a message to consumer services or?

Fill out the form at https://service1.us.playstation.com/rma.htm?_flowExecutionKey=_c92D75E9B-7FD5-E1DE-066C-ED1D839DB02D_kBFD9F6D8-501E-19F5-3A74-C887FB96CD22.

They will respond to you in 2 days.  If they don't respond, you will be able to call them and reference your request.  Just tell them that your PS3 is no longer working.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.
