Forums - Sony - MAG beta vids...AWESOME

lol , im guessing you haven't played been on the Beta? tis good for your sake xD.
i was hyped for this game alot

Around the Network

MAG is one of those games that's going to take a significant investment of time if you want to get the most out of it due to the stat building, leveling and leadership point system.

Mechanically, I didn't have any problems with the closed beta, although I felt more or less detached from my squad (like most FPS games) since nobody was really using headsets which meant there was no communication on a squad level or command and control on a platoon level or higher, which is essentially the point of having a massive online shooter.

But, that's just the closed demo and I'm sure that will change quickly once players start digging into it.

I think once the game gets rolling, there will definitely be a strong community of players who focus almost entirely on MAG. The massive online nature of the game brings elements to the FPS field not previously seen for those willing to play deep enough.

I can myself playing this next year hopefully they bundle it up with a mic,I pretty much just saw every video of MAG beta avaliable on youtube & i liked it it alot.Btw does anyone know if you can unlock weapons in the game like BF:Bad company?

On PS3 I assume you mean...It's not like that on XBox 360....I mean some people don't use their mics...but it's very few people...

Which is where I think It's problem's will be...I mean it sounds cool to sorat be 1 of 3 factions and each with it's own classes and what not...But like some one pointed out in this thread before...It's going to be a Campathon....Maybe Sony gets it right this time and delivers an FPS mass amounts of people play...but in My opinion...the scale is too big of a jump from 30 vs 30

ok first and foremost there is really no camping in that game not that type of game.

On XBL, most of the chatter is non-game related smack talk. Generally, only teams that have worked together previously work cohesively as a unit, mics or no.

As for the difference between 30 vs. 30 and 128 vs. 128, that's platoon level engagements vs. company level engagements for those not familiar with actual military operations. And it's quite a difference, especially from a command and control standpoint. Superior combat co-ordinators and field commanders can and often will win battles. Those who earn the leadership points to take the command roles should have a strong influence on the outcome of any game, which is something not seen on any other FPS, which are all structured on basic fire team and squad level combat.
