What they should do is just go back to releasing expansions for AOE 2 with new civs. Or somethin.

In fact, just take the perfect AoE2 and...I dunno, look if there's something you can improve. But don't change that winning formula. There's nothing like AoE2 and The Conquerors, and I hope whoever develops this can have the same magic as that game+expansion |
I second this (or third or fourth).
And im so happy that more ppl feel the same. AoE 2 is in my top 3 games in history.
Age of Empires is a rts :p
And it's not the king.
The last good one in my opinion was age of empires 2 though. And since the old studio who invented the franchise was closed.. well i say the odds of it being good are 50 50.
cool, would buy it for the 360 if it comes to the system.
GAMERTAG IS ANIMEHEAVEN X23
PSN ID IS : ANIMEREALM
PROUD MEMBER OF THE RPG FAN CLUB THREAD
ALL-TIME FAVORITE JRPG IS : LOST ODYSSEY
Problem is, I think if they release an AOE4 that is medieval it will feel very different... but....it can still be good. I hope it doesn't go to 360, as that would probably mean they were dumbing it down.
Red Alert lives on as a franchise, but the series died with westwood.
Ensmble made incredibly good RTS games, but now that they are closed, any new AoE will just become a living dead just like Red Alert.
Out of all the good RTS makers, only Blizzard remains, and they, well... they have changed. They used to rewrite entire games based on their fans complaints, and now they litterarely laugh in the faces of those who want to play LAN.
Being a RTS gamer is so depressing nowadays
EDIT: What's an SRPG?
I LOVE ICELAND!

You mean all of command & conquer. Since the tiberium universe has gotten a even rougher beating than the red alert universe. The two were once one and the same. Red alert 1 being a prelude for command & conquer tiberian dawn.
cnc3 was terrible.. storywise and cutscene wise... and most of the actors, the director did a poor job etc. screen play.
It lacked the cnc feel.
Tiberian sun wasn't all that good.. infact i don't like the gameplay, but atleast the story was interesting.. and the cutscenes well executed.
A SRPG is a strategy rpg.
The old box insert page has it as a Vietnam/Cold War type game:

Strategy RPG ey? Ok, that doesn't make any sense for AoE xD
You're absolutely right. The Entire C&C franchise is a living dead franchise. I just said Red Alert because I was thinking about the first RA at the time.
