Why are we having this conversation for the 4th time?

The first batch of screen shots were using a lot of place holder textures.

This may be so but if the game is stunning NOW then why not release a few new screens or more to the point don't release screens that are in no way representative of the final product. It doesn't do your product any favours.

A picture is worth a thousand words so unless he can back it up there really wasn't much point in him making those comments.

I do agree with you here.

It was boneheaded as hell of Activision to release screenshots that clearly showed early development (look at the texture differnce in the tan soldier and the environment around him).  However, we've been over this exact issue several times since they were released and that quote in the OP was also discussed back then.

It's like everyone just forgot or something.

I've found some people just won't change their mind about something even when proven otherwise.

Dead Rising CTYD didn't look spectactular when it released, but neither did it look anywhere near the muddy screens first shown. But when shown screens and video from the near final build, there were cries of doctoring, even though this was a more completed version of the game (some did admit they were wrong when they actually tried the game).

When GTA Chinatown Wars and The Conduit didn't tear up the charts when they launched, there were cries that they flopped. Sales now are a lot higher than those openings, and there are still cries that they flopped, even though Take Two and Sega said they did well.

Or just the gaming press when it comes to the Wii. It's still "doomed" after still tearing up the charts. Early sales show the PS3 beating the Wii in the US, but by only 2,000 units. There will be cries of "doomed", despite the evidence showing otherwise.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

They are apparently working on a Trailer, some Treyarch guy said so on the COD:WaWii forums.

As long as it doesn't cut into working on the game, they can go ahead.

^I don't even need a trailer. I would just like to see some new screens and i don't think that can be too hard for them to do. Something to convince me this isn't just a cheap cash in on an excellent game.

We still have time for them to release said images, so be patient.

The claim, while heavily biased, is still good news because I really doubt Treyarch would risk their reputation THAT MUCH on such a statement. If it comes out looking terribly, think about what that would do to their credibility.

I'm sure it is..

Just read at the COD WAW Wii forums from a moderator that a video will be released in the next 2 weeks.

As long as MWii looks as good as WaWii then I will be sasified.

How about it can't be, because ports are not cheap. You have to do the entire ******* game code over again for the new system.

Now it is for the money, this is Activision that owns the series of course, but it's not going to be cheap.

As long as the game looks like WaW or better and the gameplay is like COD4 on the 360,,ill be more then happy. Though every time i play COD4 on the 360 i have to say how great that game looks.

I'm aware of how a port works and i was using cheap in the figurative rather than the literal sense. Nonetheless there is a continuum of quality even for a port where additional time and money spent on programmers, assets and the like can improve the final quality of the game.  COD:MW is a big name and thus this game should sell ok regardless of the quality so there could be the temptation for Activision to do this game 'on the cheap', so to speak.

We know that this game should look at least as good as WAW and until such time as i see screens that demonstrate that level of quality I am going to question the extent of Activision's investment in the Wii version of this game.  There are just too many questions surrounding the announcement, release and initial media for this game to allow me to get excited just yet.
