You can import the bloody game because the ps3 is not region locked (like other consoles of the generation). I feel your concern but you guys are getting a chance at a free Grand Turismo portable for the Go so I think it is us American's that should be jealous of you!!!!!!!

PS2 was definitely higher in Europe, by about 5 million. Not sure about PS1, but probably the same. PSP is highest in Europe as well, of course.
