i am digging prime trilogy. The game is sweet and i love the controls so far. I never finished prime 2 and didnt come close for that matter, but i'm getting close to the end and I'm kicking myself for never playing through the first time. Also, I can't believe how good Prime 2 is in terms of graphics. Sad to say, but the game looks better than most Wii titles.
Why is it sad to say that it looks better than most wii titles?

I would agree with the opinion that Metroid Prime becomes more fun a few hours in (first run time). I think that, for me, the game really kicks off with the fight with Flagraa (spelling). After that, Magmoor Caverns, The ice stage, and the space pirate base levels are just amazing. I particularly like the overworld also.....I guess I really just didn't like the ruins that much.
I don't find that to be that bad at all. But sometimes I did hold - when I wanted + or vice versa.
Never played the first 2 games on the GC. Will beat Prime tomorrow though. :D

Lol, yeah I get it. My friends give me non-stop crap about it too. I got rid of Fallout 3 within a week. ![]() BTW thanks to everyone giving me hope that I'll end up liking MP, I'll head home and give it another whirl tonight. |
All the Prime games are slow burners and are not well played in short bursts. Also, constantly having to point in the centre of the screen, something i had issue with when i first played Prime 3, becomes second nature after a while and requires no conscious effort.

Yeah, we have different opinions for sure. I am not a platformer guy anymore, so as good of a platformer SMG was (hated the waggle spin attack tho) it's still not going to feel awesome to me. I actually love Halo 3, but I never played 1 and 2, so it's my first Halo. I prefer my Zelda like Link to the past or Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass. Who knows, maybe I'll be able to get into MP too, but so far not so much. So far the best game I've played on my Wii would be Wii Sports or RE4. BTW the best game for me this gen is Mass Effect, if that tells you anything. |
As someone who still hasn't grown out of being a platformer fan I found SMG to be good not great. Don't let the internet fool you it's okay to have that opinion. I've also never liked the Metroid Prime games.
| Mr Khan said: I was a little irked by the changes. There was a certain, twitchy nature to the old game with the old scheme. Faced with a set of three Beetles? Click L three times to rapid fire and switch between them, killing all three in about a second. Now you have to think about what you're doing and aim. Same with the ability to sort of OCD-switch through beams, that's gone too.
It doesn't disrupt the flow of the game, but it certainly feels different. |
You know you can change that setting, right? And you could change it in the original Prime, too?
Press 2, then -, then select your control options and go mostly to the bottom. There'll be settings for "Lock on/free aim". Turn it off and it'll once again be quick three clicks.

I mean I had to save it and turn it off for life got in the way, and I was disappointed that I had to leave the game. So, maybe I jumped the gun in my original post. :-[ |
Yeah, at first, the visor switching felt tedious, but by the time I got the Wave Beam, I was entirely used to it and it was fluid. Press the button, quick flick of the wrist in that direction, and we're golden.
