Wii Fit+ - Oct 1st

Super Robot Wars Neo - Oct 29th

NSMBWii - Nov

Naruto - Nov 26th (not sure how big this is though, but it is a 10th anniversary Wii exclusive...)

Samurai Warriors 3 - Nov 29th

FFCC:CB - Nov 29

RE:DSC - Unconfirmed, but the difference between Umbrella Chronicles in NA and JP was two days and it releases 11/17/09 in US (and 11/27/09 in EU) so pretty obvious it'll be out.

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games - Uncofirmed, like RE: DSC, release gaps between NA and JP not that big between the first games so the same should be expected here (first out one released 11/06/07 in NA and 11/27/07 in JP. 23rd in EU.)

Tales of Graces - Unconfirmed, but highly possible in November/December I'd say. They have status screens finished (one of the later things they do) and we've gotten plenty of info with a release definitely coming around/during TGS. The absolute latest it'll come is January IMO if it comes to that. And for some reason Namco likes releasing Tales around FFs and sometimes DQ.

Only those three would really have any system selling potential. Tales would be decent but not huge, Robot Wars, Naruto, and Samurai Warrior aren't that big, Mario and Sonic already has a game in the franchise on the system. Resident Evil Darkside isn't a main series game, it's on-rails, so it won't be that huge.

None of the three could possibly stand up to FF13, with a price cut and hardware revision (Japan loves those). Wii Fit+ will be more legs than first week. NSMBWii will be really big in Japan, but not Final Fantasy big.

EDIT: Ah, thanks, Darth. GT5.

FF13

GT5

Tekken 6

Tales of Vesperia

Price cut

Hardware revision

I'm pretty sure that beats your list

people seem to worry more about sales than having great games to play and look forward to.

True.  Granted this IS in the Sales Discussion area of the forums AND it is a mostly sales focused website (face it, the 'chartz' in VGChartz isn't measuring male parts . . . exactly).

But the fact that THIS particular discussion has so much interest instead of other more gameplay oriented topics isn't the most flattering observation for lovers of our beloved pasttime.

I think people are underestimating the sales and hardware pushing power of NSMB:Wii. Has everyone forgotten NSMB:DS, which was a massive system seller in the DS's early life?

@kantor

oh it does

FF13 alone beats most of soriku's list

soriku this is STRICTLY sales wise, not in temrs of quality or anything as from your list its obvious wii owners ALSO have great games coming!

@soriku

whole year = unlikely....very unlikely

but soriku PS3 even getting close to it (hell even SENSIBLY contemplating this scenario) for the year is astonishing & a feat no-one would've expected 1 year ago!

I'm not sure why people keep mentioning Samurai Warrior 3.
The Dynasty Warriors and copy cat franchises are old and loosing traction, I highly doubt Samurai Warrior 3 is going to have any significant effect on Wii hardware in Japan....

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

I know I was ignored before, but NSMB:Wii is bigger than FFXIII (not just in raw sales, but system pushing also). Look at the sales of 2D mario games compared to that of Final Fantasy games. A NSMB on DS sold over five million(!) in Japan, and it was released early on so there's no big install base factor here.

I will be stunned if I'm wrong on this.

if someone is claiming PS3 will outsell the wii for the rest of the year (especially in NA)

there's no point even bothering to argue with such a person.....because whatever you say may seem insignificant to them

EDIT:

oh if they mean Japan, its likely.....especially as FF13 + GT5 is 10 times bigger than wii's whole holiday lineup combined

Even though New Super Mario Bros will likely outsell both of them, maybe combined.

Great for Sony and Ms.
