So what your saying is that if Nintendo comes out with the Wii 2, fully body motion sensor and the strength of the Xbox 360 then it would be a generation lower then the PS4? Does that mean that the Wii already is a generation lower then the 360 and PS3? Maybe the same generation as the xbox 1?

When we're talking about human generations then we're talking about successors, I think it works the same for consoles. Unless a weak son doesn't deserve to be the 6th generation even if his father is the 5th just because his ''hardware'' is below average...

This is getting very frustrating isn't it carl, he obviosuly means PS2 games, but I don't understand if he's serious or not, as thats possibly the worst response someone could have given.

right i'm sure 3DO and neo geo were ahead a generation.

and gameboy was behind the NES generation, pretty much same gen as atari.

about the DSi though, if Nintendo doesn't support it as a new console then i don't think we can call it a successor. They will continue to support DS far more than DSi though i expect a few DSi games.

there is a diffrence between next gen and current gen. DSi is current gen not next gen like that guy said. You wouldnt call a Wii next gen, would you?
