FFVIII's battle system may be more complex, but it was also broken. It basically set grinding 1:1 to winning, which imo makes using the strategy that is presented moot.  Story-wise they both were sub-par compared to their predecessors, and successor.

I just want S-E to finish their new games before remaking more stuff.

Frankly, FFVIII is one of those games that doesn't need a remkae. The graphics were done in a way where it'll be still playable down the road and the game itself was one of the more complete games in the Final Fantasy series. It doesn't need a remake for the most part, unless they want to fix the story...and we can all go on a binge about what needs to be fixed with the story.

Moreso than any Final Fantasy needing a remake, Chrono Cross is the one PSX Square game that needs a remake. Because it actually was incomplete. Only 3/4 the story was realized and 2/3 the characters stories weren't implemented. The game is still great (probably the best Square RPG on the PSX), but it could have been so much more.

I think a FF7 is more milky, unless they find a way to put sephirot and cloud in FF8 it could be more possible.

I want a FF8 HD remix on the PS3... The game looks good itself, but it will be amazing that my favorite FF game would get a graphics and sound upgrade...

Now, before that, GET THE NEW GAMES DONE ALREADY!!!

FF VIII was better than VII imo.

To those saying FF IX, sure it was a great game, but the unique art style wouldn't translate well in HD (dontcha think?).

I really got to the point where I don't care what Square-Enix does since I really only care about Suikoden and SMT when it comes to jRPGs nowadays.

Just go buy Persona 3/4 instead everybody.
