I want FF8 remake...not FFVII

This!!! Also I would say that gameplay wise FFVII>FFVIII. Story-wise they are in the same boat for me. If I were to choose a PS game to be remade it would be IX, which is tied with IV as my second favorite.

FF VII combat was too simplistic for my liking :/ FF VIII required more strategy, had more options, and plus it had cool angles during battle when they used magic and limit breaks and such.

Story was better in FF VIII IMO...

FF VIII > FF VII, I agree with the OP.

FFVIII's battle system may be more complex, but it was also broken. It basically set grinding 1:1 to winning, which imo makes using the strategy that is presented moot.  Story-wise they both were sub-par compared to their predecessors, and successor.
