Get the Pro ESPECIALLY since you want Mass Effect. If you install it, it eliminates a lot of the technical issues and gets rid of the texture pop-ins. Installing games is the way to go.

Nah... I want the box only for games /mostly single player/. No online. |
Plus you can buy a used 20GB HDD on eBay fairly cheap if you were to later decide that you want more.

Nobody is trying to talk him out of it. Stop trying to start a flamewar. Act your age.
OT: Do it, but DONT get an Arcade, get a Pro/Elite.
Plenty of good games for you to buy.

Several of those games exist on the PC. I don't know if I would call them exclusives.
Personally, I would recommend spending your money upgrading your PC to play newer games. A lot of the games that are 'exclusive' (to other consoles) to the XBOX360 are FPS games that control better with the keyboard and mouse anyway.
ya the more the marier
I am a loyal SONY fan and will always be.
I am also a PS1, PS2, PS3 and a PSP owner.

Goodbye.
Great console. I recommend owning both. It's the only way to be this gen.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.

I wouldn't. Especially if your old PC isn't rocking an i7. Most of those games run like ass on a dual core processors.
Plus, PC gaming is rife with problems lately. The cost to "upgrade" is much higher than 299, you don't get some of the games, you have to deal with DRM, and you have to play them at your computer unless you build an elaborate setup like I have.
Plus, once you get it built, you are always checking framerates, and worrying, and it becomes more about your "rig" and your pride for it, than it does about playing the games.
As a Very High 1080p Crysis rig owner, I can honestly say, the 360 is a much, much better gaming investment. You get graphics and online mods, but you also lose a lot, and that's what PC gamers won't tell you about.
