as of right now...yes....in two to three weeks when there's a constant flow of slims....that's a different story.

This is to be expected. Nothing about this blows my mind away. PS3 Slim will have very big sales, what I am interested in is the sustained sales after the hype, after everything averages out.

Yeah but Xbox 360 will always sustain its great sales.

That article is stupid. It says that the XBox 360 price change just happened the night before and now they are comparing it sales with the PS3 Slim and original PS3 that had their price cut 10 days ago. LMAO!! Are they stupid or what. The XBox 360 sale price hasn't even be on sale for 24hrs yet. That's the WORSE comparison I've ever seen. Why don't they wait 30 days and then do the comparison? Everyone know that more people were waiting for a PS3 price cut, then an XBox 360 price cut. XBox 360 have been outselling the PS3 all year, so why would many people care about an XBox 360 price cut? LOL!! Dumb @#$%%#!!Also, Amazon is one of the worse sites to track sales. The PS3 is on top like you say, but when the NPD sales come out the XBox 360 and Wii will have sold more consoles. LOL!! 30 days aren't required..well the comparison needs to be put out atleast by mid sept when significant numbers start showing up. It's just something I'm really looking forward to know.

1) The Slim hasn't even released yet

2) They're the same price

3) There is always a huge boost at the time of a price cut. Of course, the PS3 will continue to outsell the 360 for a while, but not by as large an amount.

I'd wait for a little while to see where this is going.

Playstation brand name and global recognition is still greater than the Xbox branding, those charts that say otherwise are composed by idiots. Also looking at the Elite and the Slim, there is only one real choice. When taking into account all you get with the PS3 out of the box, and then look at the Elite - it looks like a rip off.

Why are people even talking about Amazon sales? I posted about Amazon sales on VGchartz in the past, and was immidietly and violently attacked by numerous posters almost every reply as I was told how "worthless" Amazon charts are. Why isn't that happening in this thread??? Because it's good news for PS3???".

 

Anyways, PS3 has ALWAYS been vastly overrepresented on Amazon. PS3 has always outsold 360 on Amazon, even before "slim". The PS3 fat was usually in the top 25 while the top 360 SKU was usually like 50-100. However in the reasl world of course 360 was outselling PS3 all those months.

I'm not sure why. My best guess is that PS3 fanboys go out of their way to order from Amazon to influence the rankings. Fanboys of Wii and 360 are apparantely not that rabid.

Actually when I look at Amazon I look RELATIVE to the past. And relative to the past amazon ranking, 360 is doing a lot better than I thought with it's recent faux price cuts, with no less than 5 hardware SKU's in the top 100 recently. After we adjust for Amazon chart's pro-PS3 bias, I suspect 360 will be easily outselling slim in the real world based on this data.
