I hate these types of rumors and I'm not getting my hopes up for a another big exclusive.

omg. i hope god hear your words. because if it is legend of the dragoon 2. it would be a dream come true!!!!!!!!!!!!.
It's not Twisted Metal! They wouldn't bother with all of this cloak and dagger if they were hinting about a game which David Jaffe announces every five minutes.
It would have to be a massive series if the majority of gamers would enjoy it...Sony got Crash back?
I first thought of Twisted metal, seems like the most likely candidate. Socom 4 is rumored to be in development - i don't know if that fits the 'the vast majority of gamers will likely enjoy' though.
On the other hand GTA5 as a ps3 exclusive doesn't seem to be completely out of the question (largely because the Housers were quoted saying they didn't know where to go with GTA without more disk space), but I wonder why they'd be talking to 'psxextreme.' That definitely would be 'massive,' And they could even market it as a 50GB game to coincide with the '5'. They definitely wouldn't announce GTA5 before 'gay tony' has a fair share in the spotlight.
Here are the best selling PS1 games:

The majority of them are exclusive, thanks to the dominance the PS1 enjoyed. I would post the PS2 link, but really there's nothing wildly exciting on there that doesn't already have an announced or released sequel, except maybe Jak. But I hope this isn't Jak, because Jak exists anyway.
We have several Final Fantasies on the list, but with FOUR FF games due for release in the next few years (two of them PS3 exclusive), that's nothing huge. Gran Turismo's sequel is coming this year, Crash Bandicoot (which was my guess) is there, along with its brother Spyro, which didn't sell as well, but was successful nonetheless, Tekken (wow Tekken 3 sold nearly 7 million!) has a sequel planned for this year, RE and MGS have had sequels this gen, same with Tomb Raider, Rayman has been destroyed by Ubisoft, and nothing else, except Syphon Filter, is really worth mentioning. Again, Syphon Filter is not huge. So it depends how loosely this site is using the term "huge".
There was one other series that appeared a couple of times- Driver. I've never heard of it, what is it? Is it huge? The sales suggest that it is. But, on checking Wikipedia, it's already announced multiplat.
Spyro and Crash look like the only two games it could really be. And with neither having seen a decent iteration since the PS1, it would be a massive leap over the (real) predecessor, but also familiar.
If it's going to be ready by end 2010, I doubt it'll be KH3 or FFVII:Regurgitated.
Not with Versus in the pipes, surely.
I'm not sure Twisted Metal fits the "Broad Appeal" moniker either, although it sure was awesome.
I'm stumped.
