Final Fantasy has lots of games (Tactics,Crystal,Dissidia etc) and I'm not sure how much Mario has..

Final Fantasy has lots of extra stuff (Movies,figures,potions(LOL).

But I think unlike Final Fantasy, Marios aren't bringin anything new to series for past 10 years.

I feel Mario is more raped.

I have played about all Final Fantasy games from 8 and about all Marios from Yoshis Island (Well played Galaxy 20 minutes and got sick of it).

If you mean to say which franchise has had more unnecessary iterations solely for monetary gain, Mario. By far. Seriously, Mario DDR. That is all.

I think both are relatively non-raped. Most Mario and Final Fantasy games seem to be average or above and at least some tend to push their genres in new directions. They are pretty synonymous with quality.

Probably more Mario.

Both to a degree, Mario titles tend to turn out better though so its more .... justified.
