Sony are still losing money while I think MS is making a profit

Even if they are too close to the wii's price I still think it will outsell them both..

RROD have not fully gone away - far from it, and there is no way that Microsoft made back the money it paid for GTA downloads.

Tree things about GTA downloads:

1. That was a loan

2. That was in the past when were talking about profit in this threads context were talking now and in the near future

3. That wasnt hardware and that is what this thread is about

As for RRoD nope isnt fully gone away, but it really isnt much of an issue any longer (unless what you really care about is how Sony is doing) and who says the $1B set aside is gone.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Its official the ps3 and 360 cost the same
this is some s$%@
Major cut backs in the consoles so u might as well just get the older models

The best estimate is that Sony is losing some money on the hardware, but not much... around $50 at most.

Couldn't it be more than $50 though?

Yeah... since part of the assumption was that iSuppli's data was correct.

No, the 360 is $100 cheaper.

i don't care who's making profit or losing money, as long as good games keep getting made :)

on hardware i know Sony is losing a ton per console, not sure about MS but they're either making a bit or losing a bit.

Overally, Microsoft should be much more profitable because of XBL, higher software sales, etc.
