Forums - Gaming - why do people in the US complain so much about the prices?

in Australia a PS3 after the price cut is 500 US dollars.

i bought the 40 GB for that same price, the Wii in Aussie is half the price of the PS3, so Why complain alot ?, i remember i bought a PS2 for the same price and i was happy about it, yes you heard me the PS2 not PS3.

and about the games...

NORMALLY they go for around 70 dollars, but if its a popular and got lots of deman it can go to 105 US dollars.

i even saw Eternal Sonata for that same price, its TOO high, yet people don't complain (IM FIRST)  as much as in the US where they get it for 59$ max new, and later for 29$ as for Xbox games they cost the same, and PSP games cost a little less or if its a good game they cost the same.

Wii games are the same price as PS3 and 360 games which doesn't make any sense), and if Xbox gets a RROD there is no such thing as warranty you have to buy another, or repair it yourself (which will cost more)

so again why complain?

i guess that the pay there is probably higher...

Different countries have different standards.

look at what the UK pays for gas, pretty high if i'm not mistaken.

@Wii_master
in aussie ? no, but in here yeah maybe.
people living in australia are getting rough deals.

The question is why don't Aussies complain MORE? Maybe the companies would drp the prices if they knew they were upsetting people, but if noone says anything, they probably assume the prices are ok.

Because people in the US don't care that others have it worse. If you're hungry as hell and someone says "Yeah, children in Africa are hungrier", that doesn't make you less hungry. The prices aren't too bad for the US, but I think they can complain even though you aussies have it way, way worse.

Now, release dates on the other hand...

Well, you too are complaining.

A person in Brazil would look at your prices and ask the same question you did. "Why complain about prices"

The prices in Australia suck worse than the US, but that doesn't mean that prices don't suck in the US.

@Wii_Master - The pay is pretty close, but I think its a little lower in Australia.

ok then i thought that australia would probably be paid moe well i don't why the prices are so high if the pay is similar...

also i think you are right about us complaining cause in canada here you have to pay way too much tax and its more then us tax....also i will give you an example...its 49.99 there for metroid prime trilogy while here in canada its 59.99 not that i find it wrong because i say 60 dollars is still an awesome price thanks nintendo but just that why do you guys in the us have to pay less tax and the game thetre is 10 dollars less....

I believe Mafoo could explain this for you.

Because when it comes to electronics and PC hardware, they're really, really spoiled. I can't even get a good graphics card for the price they pay for a complete, decent PC.
