Why does every one always think the PS3 will overtake the PS3, Alot of people by a 360 because there mates arew online with theres. Xbox live got in there first I dont see the PS3 taking the 360. Becausr they believe at a good price and its games it will use the Japanese and European markets to overpower the 360's overwhelming American presence.

Edit* This post is in reference to NA market since well, I live in NA. I think its just an expectation since the ps2 sold so well last generation. I think there all wrong. Look at sales charts a year ago. The ps2 was in the lead in software and console sales. Look at it today, alot of the gamers have already moved on to the new generation. I don't see this mass exodus to the ps3 ever happening. The 2nd reason which is tied to the first, for the ps3 winning is just because its a playstation.. However, the vast majority of gamers do not have loyalty to a certain company. Don't believe me? Why did all the Sega fans purchase playstations? The market builds upon success. Sell more consoles, get more games and gamers. Rinse repeat. When your behind a cycle (ps3 to 360) its an even steeper hill. I think if Ps3 doesn't come out with a stunning victory in NA this Christmas it maybe to late. Anyway you look at the numbers does not look good for Sony. Compare launch numbers in NA between 360 and ps3, the 360 is selling even more now with competition. The gap grows larger.

360 has a good european pressence as well out law, maybe not quite as big but to an extent

It comes down to this, this biggest market is in 360 favor, the two smaller japan and others are in ps3, with japan major, and europe equal or possibly slightly bigger

this is why i think they should be close at the end of the gen because the market difference almost makes them equal
