Forums - Sony - Heavy Rain Script Over 2,000 Pages

http://www.ps3center.net//news/3538/heavy-rain-script-over-2000-pages/

I'm a writer so I've written some pretty lengthy scripts averaging around 120 pages. In fact thats the average length a standard movie is give or take. For video games its a bit more complicated as you need to script certain situations and dialogue for every possible outcome, so lets give the average game 240 pages give or take.

Heavy Rain doesn't follow either, instead they went with 2,000 pages. Yes you read that right, two thousand pages for a script alone. David Cage explains that the script is so big due to difficulties scripting all the possible decisions, differnt storylines, and trying to branch out every part of the game without going too far.

He also explains some details about the recent trailer, more about the game, and tid-bits about some other development points in his interview with EU PlayStation Blog. Check it out!

I'm really hyped now CGI.

O_o 2000 page script for an 8 hour game. This is going to have really good replay value by the sounds of things.

How much is an average film script? 2000 pages seems MASSIVE

Between 100 and 200...

2000 seems impossible but hey it's HEAVY RAIN!

I wonder how long the Oblivion and Fallout 3 scripts are.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.
