Forums - Sony - Need some advice

My 60 GB finally died(YLOD) And I have a decsion to make pay 150 plus tax which comes out to 162 or buy the new ps3 slim because my parents are willing to pay half 150 and half 150 from me. They are skeptical about sending it in to sony because they think it will break again. The thing is my ps3 is a 60 gb model that have ps1,and ps2 in it with 4 usb slots plus wifi, and the slim has only 2 usb and no B/C not sure if it has wifi anyone want to confirm from me. So VG what will you do.

Slim has wi-fi, only bc with ps1 games, 2 usb ports, no memory card readers

IMO I think the ps3 fat looks better than the slim so I dunno what to do >

The Slim has wifi 100 %..

The desicion is yours m8... My opinion is go for the phat one, more usb, sd card reader, I found it better looking..but hey that's just me...

well i been hearing that the 20/60gb may increase in value... if it where me id get it repaired

I would get it repaired. Maybe keep your hard drive before sending it though.

Leave a note that you want the same 60GB model back. I would be pissed if they sent back a refurb'd model.

Call up Sony and clarify that to them.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 > Modern Warfare 2

I would repair it if you use the BC and card readers.

If I were you, I would repair my 60 GB model; that is, unless you find the aesthetics of the Slim to be overwhelmingly better than the larger model.

I sent mine in also 60gb when it stopped working and they sent a 60 back but not the same model. It's louder now so I'm guessing that it might be that they overheat. I'm still happy having the 60 though because otherwise I'd have over 30ps2 games I couldn't play. Plus it is covered for 90 days after they sent one back to you. I'd recommend getting it repaired.
